Frequently Asked Questions
Is it worth fixing my computer?
In most cases…Yes!…
In short, most computers that experience performance issues are still good computers! This is because most problems are software-related, not hardware. This means that a repair usually makes more sense than buying new, especially when saving half the cost or more.
What else should I consider when thinking about repairing vs. buying new?
If you choose to have CCS repair your computer, most repairs are completed on average within a couple hours. If your computer has excessive system/software issues, then CCS usually recommends backing up all your data and reinstalling the Windows or Mac operating system, providing a clean and fresh installation. With any of these service options, CCS returns your computer to its “better-than-new” optimized working condition.
Carefully consider all your potential costs if you plan to buy new. You should expect to pay full retail price for the computer and any software, plus tax. In addition, you will have to pay separately for a data back up from old and restore into new. Your new computer is usually preloaded with a new Office suite, but only good for 60 days. This means that after the 60-day trial period, you’ll need to purchase the newer version of that Office software for a premium cost. You may also have to buy anti-virus/security software. All these costs can quickly add up to 3 or 4 times more expensive than repairing.
Finally, although new computers are preloaded with software, they are not optimized for performance and efficiency, the system and user interface are not configured, and they are not preinstalled with system & security updates and patches. It is this very reason that most computers need premature repairs in the first place, yet most retailers won’t tell you this about “new” products. If buying new is a must, you may want to consider having CCS perform your initial configuration to help prevent future problems. It is well worth it!
I just bought a new computer but need help getting it up and running — can you help?
Yes. When you buy a new computer, the operating system and software straight “out-of-the-box” are not configured for the best user experience and Windows updates with patches have not been applied. CCS can come to your home or office, set it up, configure and personalize your new system to your specific needs and provide you hands-on instruction if needed.
How do I make an appointment?
Simply call (661) 713-5673, email, or send message through our online form.
When can you come to see me?
We can typically provide same to next day service, depending on availability. We offer appointments Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and often service customers into the evening as needed. CCS is also available on weekends with advanced notice.
Do you offer drop off service?
Yes. CCS understands that it’s difficult sometimes to schedule enough time for an on-site service call. Just call and you can either drop off your computer or CCS can pick it up and deliver it to you. CCS also performs repairs through remote services software.
What can I expect when a CCS visits my home or office?
Upon arrival, we will interview with you to better assess the problem or service request. After the service or repair has been completed, CCS will provide an understandable assessment and estimate for the recommended service(s) to be performed.
How long will it take to fix my computer?
Time spent solving a problem varies depending on its complexity. On average, CCS usually resolves problems within 30 minute to 2 hour range.
I think my computer has a virus — what should I do?

Do you work on Macs?

If I want to start a home-based business, what type of technology will I need to begin?
